Do you know the role of the Service Officer?   Accredited American Legion service officers are specially trained to provide expert assistance, free of charge, to veterans and their families. While the majority of a service officer’s work involves application for VA disability benefits, these compassionate professionals also provide information, referrals and resources on education, employment and business, death benefits and other important topics. George Scott is our Service Officer and is fully trained and is ready to provide assistance whenever needed.

Do your family members know where to locate all the important information if something unforeseen should happen to you?  Every member should prepare a Casualty Assistance Checklist  to ease the burden on those left behind.  Fortunately for us, a checklist was developed by retired Senior Master Sergeant H. K. "Hal" O'Leary of Grants Pass, OR.  A PDF copy of the checklist is available on the Retiree Activities Office web site.
